Description
Painted with the darker palette choices of blacks, ash greys, and whites, “Journey To The Light” is the tinted story of an ordinary woman in a male dominated society. This particular art of mine voices all the strengths hidden between the fragile and hushed speech in the male domains. It walks with a major theme of freedom aligned with the women.
Living in a patriarchal society, we are so used to seeing the men in power that a woman in dominance awes us. With this art, I would love to reveal the adventurous journey of a woman to stand out in the crowd with every layer of thoughts and revelations.
Indeed “Journey To The Light” hints at both classical and modern eras with the indication of independence, strength, and culture. I painted this art to portray a woman (a sign of feminism, virtue, and elegance) aligned with the cultural reference through intricate patterns found in Mandalas and thangkas.
Standing in the dark corner, this painting showcases the subtle choices of strength while the lady represents determination and courage. Here, the lady is equivalent to the deity herself, and the back of the head is lit with a halo.
The patterned halo is the metaphorical representation of the aura of glory, veneration, and sentiment. Altogether, she is presented as a sign of holiness and feminity.
For the balance between her feminine side and strength without overpowering the gist itself as a dominance, I portrayed the lady with the nurturing factor from the environment. The flower she holds, and the pattern on the halo define her as a nurturing element.
“Journey To The Light” is my delineation of freedom, equality, and feminine power. It is dedicated and designed for every single independent lady marking her way through our society filled with patriarchy.
